Flooring & Painting — Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to install new flooring?+

Hardwood typically runs $12–$20/sq ft installed in the Bay Area. Engineered wood is $8–$14, luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is $6–$10, and tile is $10–$20 depending on size and pattern. A 1,500 sq ft whole-home refloor usually lands $15,000–$30,000.

How much does interior house painting cost?+

Whole-home interior painting in the Bay Area runs $4,500–$10,000 for a typical 2,000 sq ft home — walls, ceilings, trim, and doors. Exterior painting is $6,000–$15,000 depending on stories, siding type, and prep needed.

Can you refinish my existing hardwood floors?+

Yes. Sand-and-refinish on solid hardwood typically runs $4–$7/sq ft and takes 4–6 days for a whole home. You'll need to be out for 2–3 days while the finish cures. We can also recoat without sanding when floors are in good shape.

How long does flooring installation take?+

A whole-home flooring install usually takes 1–2 weeks: 2–3 days for demo, 1 day for subfloor prep, then installation (faster for LVP, slower for hardwood and tile). You can stay in the home but should plan to live around the in-progress areas.

Do you handle drywall repair before painting?+

Yes. All wall prep — patching nail holes, repairing drywall damage, sanding, and priming — is included in our painting scope. We don't leave it to the homeowner.
